The Keresley Sustainable Urban Extension
In December 2017 Coventry City Council adopted a new Local Plan - In this plan a large area of Keresley Parish greenbelt land was removed and designated as an area for housebuilding; the Keresley Sustainable Urban Extension (SUE).
This calls for 3100 homes to be built within the parish with a new link road from the Long Lane / Tamworth Road junction to Winding House Lane, two local retail centres and a new school.
There is now virtually no GREENBELT land left in the Keresley Parish, most of it now having been given over for housing development within the Parish.
In August 2019 Coventry City Council published a separate Design Guide document for the SUE as a Supplimentary Planning Document (SPD) to be used in conjunction with the Local Plan when planning applications are submitted for large developments.
Details of SUE planning applications in Keresley Parish can be found at SUE Applications .
The Link Road
Since 2014 Coventry City Council have planned the new link road as part of the local infrastructure. The Parish Council is obliged to accept the SUE and the link road as part of the development as a whole.
Further information may be found in the Link Road document which can be downloaded here.
